Journey across the Essequibo River to the Cinderella county Essequibo; to Lake Mainstay and Lake Capoey. Start at Lake Capoey, a serene spot surrounded by rainforest. Then, head to Lake Mainstay for a peaceful retreat with swimming, relaxing, and scenic views. This tour offers the perfect blend of nature, tranquility, and adventure, making it an unforgettable escape into Essequibo’s picturesque coastland.

What to Expect:

  • Bumpy boat ride on the river (not recommended for persons
    with bad backs, knees, hips or who are pregnant).
  • Sun or rain exposure, humidity.
  • Walking, swimming.
  • Fun and adventure.

Tour Layout:

  • Depart Georgetown and travel across the Demerara river to Parika
    Big Kiss Wharf (Parika- transfer to speed boat)
  • Boat ride from Parika to Supenaam; approximately 30 minutes
  • Transfer to Bus on the Essequibo Coast
  • Proceed to Lake Capoey; 20 minutes here for pictures
  • Continue to Anna Regina for pictures and history
    45 Minutes drive to Lake Mainstay
  • Pre-ordered lunch and non-alcoholic beverage at Lake Mainstay;
    swimming and relaxation
  • Depart Lake Mainstay at approximately 3pm for Georgetown

What To Take

  • Light comfortable clothing and comfortable sneakers or footwear.
  • Sunscreen and bug spray
  • Swim wear, umbrella, hats, raincoats
  • Snacks
  • Towel and change of clothing for swimming
  • Allergy medication or antihistamine, if needed. Or any other medication.

Rules and Guidelines

  • Always listen to the Tour Guide and do as advise for your safety and enjoyment of the Trip.
  • Keep all valuables on you at all times.
  • Always wear seat belts in vehicles.
  • Do not rush in and out of vehicles, boats or planes; ascend or descend in an orderly manner; wait until the person in front of you is seated or disembarked then enter or exit.
  • When in any Touring Guyana Vehicle, keep all arms, legs and belongings in the vehicle, until told to disembark.
  • When in the rainforest; do not pick leaves, flowers, berries or plants, you maybe allergic to.
  • If you are feeling tired or unwell inform the Tour Guide.
  • Do not litter, garbage bags are available, just ask the Guide.
  • All safety guidelines are in effect.

Assembly and Departure

 

6:45 AM:  Meet the tour guide in front of Qik Serv on Main and Quamina Streets.

6:55 AM:  Depart Georgetown (late arrivals will be left behind).

Note: Pick up can be done along the route on the main road. Kindly  inform the reservation staff.

Return

7:00 PM:  Approximate return time to Georgetown
